Alterac Valley.

This BG has had a ton of controversy surrounding it.

It doesn't matter whether Horde or Alliance is dominating on a given battlegroup, there will always be this bad attitude in regards to it.

On my battlegroup, it's around 50/50 for victories and losses.

No matter what happens Alliance can never seem to get a solid grip on things, and this is, of course, the case anywhere you go.

I can't seem to fathom the mindset of most Alliance players. Is it the concept that we are the "hero" units? Doubtful that this was Blizzard's intent, despite the customization we go through.

No, it seems to me that we are extremely custom grunt-type units. AV highlights this quite a lot, actually, with the 40/40 matchup. We just don't pop out of a building when we spawn, we rez at a graveyard.

Yet people dash along with no real regard for personal safety. What it feels like, is that you're being commanded by a novice to mid-level RTS player who has no real concept of micro.

I've yet to roll up a Horde character to see what it's like on the other side - I'm probably going to do that at some point in the near future because I'm REALLY hating a lot of people lately - but it feels like an army played by someone with good micro.

I'd love to figure out exactly WHY the mentality is so different on the "other side" or, why it appears to be so.

*Micro, being "micromanagement", or the effective control of individual units.
